SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (February 3, 2021) — Capewell, a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of safety, tactical, parachute, and aerial delivery products for the defense, public safety, and law enforcement communities, today announced that Jared Burns has been promoted to Director of Engineering, effective immediately.

Burns, a former Air Force aviator has for more than nine years leveraged his technical and military background in key roles at Capewell. As Director of Operations, Burns was responsible for manufacturing at the Connecticut facility. Prior to that, he served as Business Development Manager, responsible for all aspects of marketing, pricing and business development strategy for five product lines.
In the Business Development role, Burns advised on research and development projects, managed commercial and military product lines worldwide and provided market research and analysis for new contracts and other bidding opportunities. He represented the company at industry trade shows and exhibits around the world and liaised with US and foreign government customers, prime manufacturers, program managers, engineers, and procurement agents.
Burns served for more than seven years in the United States Air Force, trained as a Navigator, and completed two combat deployments as a B-1B Weapon Systems Officer. He holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the United States Air Force Academy.onn
