Static discharge cables attach to helicopter rescue hooks to discharge static electricity so that rescue crews and victims don’t receive an electrical shock when they come in contact with the hook. Capewell Aerial Systems has just introduced a new static discharge cable with and integrated torpedo weight. The weight helps stabilize the cable by reducing whipping and swinging under the rotor wash.
Our new cable is compatible with all rescue hoist hooks. It is constructed from 5/16” steel cable with an orange plastic coating and a reflective stripe. It is ten feet long and attaches to the hook with a stainless steel gated snap hook.
